Case Study: Marine Technology Start-up
Helping a marine technology start-up to hire a COO
THE CHALLENGE:
A marine technology start-up based in Singapore was looking to expand its business globally and had to recruit a new COO. One of the key responsibilities included formulating a strategic plan to set up and develop offices for the company across the APAC region. This required a profile with very specific connections, skills set and industry intelligence.
OUR APPROACH:
Collaborating directly with the CEO, we used traditional headhunting, networking and referral methods to identify the right candidates in the industry. Profiles with international experience were needed in order to understand global port regulations and to spot the right locations that would be cost-efficient, whilst providing opportunities for growth. To help narrow the search, we used pre-screening and cognitive tests to asses candidate profiles and their suitability for this role.
OUTCOME:
The successful candidate had the perfect background to join this venture. He was identified as the top candidate by both parties at the earliest stage of the process. He had experience setting up new offices worldwide and strong knowledge of port agency operations. Properly selling this opportunity was fundamental to get key players in the market interested in this opportunity. The client was delighted to find the right candidate for the job through our robust recruitment process.
